Day 12 - Queen Charlotte Track

The Queen Charlotte Track is a 3-5 day 70km long track. Since I didn't have time for the whole thing I decided to hike a 25km slice of it from Torea Bay to Camp Bay with the help of a boat getting me to and from the track. This part of the track follows the ridge line between Queen Charlotte Sound and Kenepuru Sound for most of the hike so some pretty nice views were to be expected.

I've seen some worse places to have a break.

A curious and hungry Weka tried to partake in my lunch.

The route was quite well signposted.

One of the many bays along the track, Blackwood Bay.

I also encountered some interesting looking and sounding wildlife.

I would highly recommend the hike if like me you don't have the time to walk the whole Queen Charlotte Track.
